A little something about us…
There is something about Roanoke that makes it an incredible place to live. Maybe it’s the gorgeous backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, or the way our charming downtown comes alive on Saturday mornings, or maybe it’s how our breweries have perfected the art of craft beer (and good vibes).
Something About Roanoke was created to showcase this place we’ve lovingly called home for decades. We’re combining local knowledge and hometown pride with discerning taste, travel expertise, and (slightly) type-A planning tendencies into carefully curated guides, detailed itineraries, and thoughtful recommendations.
Why take our word for it? This is a 5-9, not a 9-5 (aka not our day job), so we’re not tied to sponsorships or advertisers. You’ll find the same honest, authentic, and enthusiastic recommendations that we share with family and friends - the coffee shop we visit three times a week, the happy hour spots that kick-off girls nights, the tiny BBQ joint worth standing in line for, and the street festivals we take our kids to on the weekends. No fake reviews, random listicles, or tourist traps – just the spots that we know and genuinely love.

We love sharing upcoming events, festivals, concerts, and meetups on our socials, but let’s be real - creating a full event calendar is too much work. Plus, there are already pros who do it way better than we ever could.
